The time has come to start thinking about getting back into work. A much more daunting thought when for the past 2 and half years all I have been is Mama, Mummy and a nappy disposal, now I have to be me. I am sure many of you know how it feels to slip into the comfort zone of just being a mummy and not really thinking about yourself and just worrying about the upbringing of your mini me, so when I think about interviews, emails and uniforms it sends shivers down my spine. I think you do lose a lot of confidence in yourself and your abilities when you become a mother because everything you were used to changes and you are thrown into the unknown, but at least most of it can be done in your pyjamas!

After applying for the first job I did it with excitement thinking this will be great, it will give me a bit of my independence back and I will earn some money and generally it will be good for family life, but the minute I hit submit I suddenly thought, hang on this means I might have to do an interview, I don’t remember how to do that! Then I find myself worrying about things that have not even happened yet…oh hi anxiety, it’s been a minute!

We send Emma to nursery already twice a week and I work to cover the cost of that but I am looking for something now with a bit more money so we can save for holidays and other luxuries we don’t have the money for at the moment. So Emma is already settled there so sending her a few more days should work out well, I just find I am overloaded with mum guilt and always continue to go over the same points and constantly change my mind. Even as I begin to type them I know they are stupid, but things like, surely I am just effectively paying for someone else to bring her up, or, what happens if she starts to prefer being at nursery and wont want to play with me, or will she feel sad!? So silly, but I live in hope that all mums feel the same!? haha

That was definitely more of a venting/what I’m feeling right now sort of post but I hope this gives another mama reading his some hope that all mums go through these times and if we can be a mother to giggling, pooing, eating, messy babies then we can do anything!!

Who doesn’t love Autumn? All the colours, the country walks, but most of all the new season in fashion!

I have decided I need to win the lottery, and quickly! There are far too many cute clothes around for Autumn/Winter this year, and its starting to feel cooler already. I usually like to get a few great staple things like coats and boots and then I just tend to layer up with basics, but this year its difficult because I still have lovely boots and coats from last year that would be absolutely fine to use this year, but I need new things!! Places like Zara, Topshop and new Instagram brands make it extremely difficult to resist!

I have started to pick up a few things for Emma from Zara and I bought her some basic long sleeve tops from Sainsburys which are great for nursery as they always spill things on themselves, so I tend to by cheaper things in bulk from places like Sainsburys or Asda, that way I don’t feel awful putting her in her “nice” things from Zara or Marksies.

A few things I got for Emma from Zara, and I have added the links too;

I also got her a few pairs of leggings from Next, just the basic Greys and Navy that will go with everything. There is so much more from Zara as well, lucky for Emma she grows out of things so she almost always has to get a new wardrobe…me on the other hand does not technically need a new wardrobe, I just want it haha.

I am not usually one to follow trends, I tend to just wear what I love, and what I think looks nice. I think the new AW collection in Zara is quite bold and you have to be brave to wear those things, I generally wouldn’t go as far as to wear matching or clashing prints but if it looks nice I will give it a go…probably with persuasion from my younger, more stylish, sisters! I am really loving the check trousers right now from Zara, again!

CHECK TROUSERS

I love both of these, they are quite out of my comfort zone but paired with a plan T shirt and some trainers I think would look cool.
I am definitely a trousers/jeans and shoes kind of girl, I always struggle with the upper half! I tend to wear boots in the winter so I would love to get a nice pair of flats, I love these right now;

I also actually really like these, but not sure about the colour;

There is a girl I follow on Instagram called SomethingNavy and I have followed her for ages and love her style. She is now in the process of launching her new clothing brand SomethingNavyBrand, with Nordstrom and all of her things I have seen so far are sooo nice! The only thing is, it is from America so I am sure the taxes and duties will be loads on the delivery!
Zara have some great jumpsuits right now too! I have never been able to pull them off, they never seem to fit me properly, so instead here is my sister, Rachel, wearing one, of course she looks amazing in it!
Told you she was more stylish!
I mention Zara a lot but it is because the clothes are so stylish and practical but also such a good price, if I did win the lottery then I would still shop at Zara but also Whistles, Jigsaw, & other stories, Sandro, and many more, but until then its Zara, Topshop, Mango and other great high street shops, eBay is also great for bargains!
I am not the most stylish but I do love fashion, so I hope your have enjoyed reading!

I love summer! It makes everyone happier and everything easier, especially dressing little ones! Although I have noticed I have literally no summer clothes, and I’m wondering is there any point buying things when we have no guarantee to how long this summer will last, thanks to the lovely British summers!! So I took to eBay hoping to get a few bargains, I ordered a couple of dresses from China, so goodness knows when they will come or whether they will look anything like they do in the picture.

This dress is from Jack Wills, I don’t usually go for the shorter dresses but I loved this one so much I thought why not?! It’s funny, since becoming a mum I am much less confidence in the things I wear. I don’t like getting my legs out, hence why they are so pastey, (why isn’t there a fake tan filter?) and I don’t tend to wear figure hugging things, do any other mums think that since having a baby? I must have changed 2 or 3 times before leaving the house, debating whether to wear this but I thought it’s so hot I can’t cope with anything heavier. Emma has on a gorgeous dress from Marksies, again it’s cheesecloth, so in love with that right now! And her little sandals are JoJo Maman bebe, they were in the sale and the last ones in her size so I grabbed them.

I have seen a lot a women wearing lovely linen dresses for summer and I’m desperate to get my hands on one, but just haven’t found the right one yet at the right price. I saw such a glamourous older lady wearing a long linen dress in town the other day and I wish I had asked her where it was from, but she was on the other side on the street, and in this weather there is no way I’m walking faster than a snails pace, definitely regretting it now!

These culottes are also from Jack Wills and they are super comfy, and such a lovely light material for summer, but they are such a pain to iron and I really hate ironing at the best of times. The top is my sisters from River Island. My sister bought me the headband from Barcelona and I love it so much, the colours are perfect and go with so many things, I wasn’t sure how to wear it at first but I think once you have a play around with it you get used to wearing it in different ways, it looks great with you hair up too.

I will keep you posted on the hunt for a linen dress and more summer outfits I find, I hope you are all having a lovely summer so far.

Who doesn’t love a bit of matching stripes! Both the dress and the sandals are from Zara. I absolutely love both, the dress is cheesecloth material, my favourite at the moment, and the sandals are really lovely and soft. Lately I have been putting Emma’s hair up in a bun or high pony because it’s so hot and also looks super cute! This photo was taken at St Peters Garden Centre where we spend a lot of time, we were walking through the little secret trail at the back of the garden centre and I thought this was the perfect photo opportunity.
